I try to avoid doing posts filled with just pretty images. There are a ton of amazing blogs who are much better at that than I.
But when you are a designer and you receive a stack of interior design mags every month, you inevitably come across spreads that delight you and you want to share. I don’t mean spreads that you look at and go Gee, that’s nice {cause it’s all beautiful}. I mean the ones that give you shivers of delight when you flip the page to them and you are instantly in awe because they are SO YOU. Anyone know what I mean? You analyze each image, read and re-read the article, flip through again randomly while cooking dinner and give a happy sigh at each and every page. #designdork
Am I the only one who spends this much time poring over their favorite spreads?
Since my husband only provides a nod and “it’s nice” when I show him my fav glossy pages, I decided I’d start a little series on the blog called “Noteworthy“. Magazine spreads that hit the ball outta the park, make my heart go pitter patter, and are completely me.
Hope you enjoy!

This living room kills me! Totally has a bit of a Darryl Carter feel – LOVE

The living room just got pinned! LOVE! And the kicker is that I have ceilings like that – just haven’t been brave enough to paint them!! Inspired! Thanks Karla!
I love the dining room! The whole space is fabulous. Did you get the Sep issue already? or is it the digital version? I still have 5 other magazines to read…not to mention blogs, etc. Life is tough….
…and read and re-read the small print and the sources? Yes, I know exactly what you mean. This one is gorgeous. It also reminds me a little of Lauren Liess of Pure Style Home which herself is a big Daryl Carter fan- so there you have it:)
I’m with you on the pitter patter.. and the husbands head-nod.. Gorgeous photos Karla!!
Ooooooh, beautiful! I could move in right now! Love everything, especially the rustic wood coffee table & dining table. And the close-up of the hydrangeas is stunning. More pics to add to Pinterest
LOVE!!! I think I need to subscribe to this one since I get everything else under the sun! Happy you shared this beautiful home with us.
That coffee table would look great in our place at Mayne and I had been wondering about the idea of a cowhide in the living area…this makes me think it might be the way to go. What do you think?
I totally get what you mean … I get the same thing from Mr. L … when sharing beautiful rooms like this, I say … share away!
I know what you mean, although I love the whole space itself except for the deer hangings. I grew up as a farm girl (a Dad who shot and hung them on the wall) so it’s not a look I really want to bring back memories with! Ha!
Label me a #designdork, too! I share your adoration of these amazing spaces!
Oh yeah!! Lovely eye candy for sure!
Thanks for stopping by my blog- and to answer your question-those curtain rods are from Country Curtains. Ballards also sells some exactly like them. They are called Return Rods-I LOVE them! simple, yet elegant.
Have a great day!!
And please totally disregard the comment I just posted above!! I totally meant that for another reader! LOL
But STILL love the Noteworthy pics and my hubby too just nods his head and mumbles “uh-huh” when I show him stuff!
I was quickly browsing the SAH Sept issue and was about to grab it when my husband said “Don’t you have enough magazines???” I’ll go back tomorrow and grab a copy. I remember thinking “This looks good” Thanks for posting. Pidder padder.
A cottage retreat?! I’d want to life here each day, every day, all year long!! Absolutely fantastically fabulous, Karla! I’ll be keeping an eye out for your featured mag spreads
