Have you all gotten your latest issue of House and Home? I was at friends on Friday for a visit and she had the latest issue that she’d picked up at the grocery store {mine hadn’t yet arrived in the mail}.
Before I continue, can I say one thing? It drives me nuts when my subscription arrives AFTER the issue hits the newstands. Argh. I won’t lie, I get all jittery when it’s late…and {call me crazy} I totally picture the Canada Post people sitting around the postal office, reading my H&H and House Beautiful, eating bonbons and {gasp} creasing the pages….
ANYHOW, so my magazine addiction is so bad that I literally couldn’t be in the same room with that new glossy without snatching it up and cracking it open. How could I ignore it, sitting there next to me on the table, taunting me with its gorgeous cover shot? I’m not exaggerrating when I say that I DEVOURED it right then and there. TOTALLY RUDE GUEST, but old friends understand me and the wee bit of design magazine addiction I have. I poured over the issue, sighed with delight at the pretty, and the visit continued
The October 2011 issue features {among other great spaces} the latest showhome designed by Lynda Reeves and team for the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. Every year they manage to create absolutely gorgeous-yet-liveable, current-yet-timeless showhomes that I adore. Last year they went for Hamptons beach house inspired {who doesn’t love the Hamptons??} and it was perfection. This year is no exception. Taking inspiration from wine country {you all know I’m sucker for Napa!} they have created a gorgeous home – Noteworthy, in fact.

Oh Karla, now I am feeling a fresh wave of desperation to visit the bookstore and grab me a copy!!! It is absolutely gorgeous… You’re right, so liveable. I like it when I can visualize my family in a magazine staged home. This one fits that criteria!! Oh if only, huh?!
What’s the deal H&H? My copy hasn’t arrived yet either and now I’m feeling ultra antsy too! Thanks for the sneak peak Karla!
I want those amazing leather sling chairs!!! They are perfection! Thanks for sharing:)
Of course, living in the U.S. my copy arrives very late and out of the countless subscriptions I have {yes, it’s an addiction} this is by far my favorite magazine. Dying for this issue to get here! Napa is one of my all time favorite places to visit and this inspired home is so up my alley. I’ll be checking my mailbox daily! Can’t wait!
I too get miffed when I see the latest issue at the store but not in my mailbox. I can so relate to the jittery feeling – crazy we are! I thought this home was stunning! They have outdone themselves yet again!
What a wonderful home…warm and inviting. Absolutely love the leather butterfly chairs!!
I saw the video tour before I got my copy of the mag and I died over those chevron floors. Had to be my favorite detail. I can’t stand seeing magazines at the store before I receive mine!!! It’s mean! HB always comes to me soooo late
Nancy xo
Glad you feel comfortable enough to relax and open a magazine. Come over anytime yours are late, ’cause I usually pick them up the day they arrive in the grocery store
I am so proud of you for admitting your magazine fetish. I feel safe to say that I have the same strong feelings for the glossy new pages of a magazine and I also have the same angst over my subscriptions being late. I have also decided that Canada Post workers need to get their own magazined subscriptions and leave our pages alone.
I woke up too early today but am so happy it gave me the chance to watch all of the videos! H&H’s current issue is sooo delightful! See you soon!
My issue was late too… hyperventilating, much! And my hubby was so happy when it arrived… just so I would quit asking him if he had checked the mail yet, or if he had maybe misplaced the pile of mail… you know how it goes!
Love all these photos…great eye candy! You’ve got such a cute blog…love the overall feel. Very soothing
xoxo

LOL Karla, I totally the same. It’s definitely an addiction but not such a bad one to have
I loved the house too felt a little different to their usual style though, no? A little crisper?
