Happy New Year!

I’m taking a break from all the holiday lazing around, eating, movie watching, visiting, and playing to wish you all a wonderful evening celebrating the New Year, and all the very very best for 2012!

On New Years Eve we’ll be celebrating with our closest friends….dinner out sans children, then back to one of our houses to hang with the kiddies till midnight. We’ll follow our tradition of making resolutions, writing them down and putting them into sealed envelopes to be read the following year {yes, that means this year we’ll get to open last years resolutions to see how we did!}. Each year the groups resolutions range from the ordinary {lose ten pounds, travel more} to the more extreme {drinking only water for a whole year…yes this one was adhered to!}. By midnight a portion of the 6 kids will have fallen asleep, but unvariably one or two of the most sugar-hyped ones make it to the magic hour. It’s hard to believe but this group of couples has been celebrating New Years together for 10 years in a row….more than a third of my life! Pretty neat, and I look forward to doing it till we are 90!

Could these two be any cuter? Love this classic song!

What are you doing for New Years?
