It was such an inspiring interview that my friend Victoria from DesignTies and Edin Interiors also shared it with her FB group members. {SPOILER ALERT} We both loved the part where Sarah talked about starting out in the design business, the point where she considered giving up, and getting her big break landing a spot in House and Home magazine. And it got us to thinking….I wonder what that old House & Home issue looked like with Sarah’s place on the cover?
Some Design Detective work ensued…. my Google skills failed me however as I came up empty handed scouring the web. So I said, “forget this detective stuff”, and emailed someone I know at House & Home. Right to the source! Sweet Beth hunted it down, scanned it {no digital versions from back then} and sent it over. I clipped Sarah’s space that (I think) was in that magazine, it’s in my inspirational files. It was of her studio apartment? I still have it, don’t have a scanner (well, I do but it isn’t connected to the Mac) but might get the hubby to do it at work. I have yet to watch the interview, thanks for posting this.
Sorry to hear about Carys, my Juli fractured her elbow a week ago, sad because she has to stop horseback riding for a few weeks, torture for her!

Loved the interview! I always wondered how she and Tommy met – so interesting to hear about that. I have House and Homes going back to 1996 so it was fun to flip through this issue and see her loft apartment decorated with antique and auction finds. Such a talent!
I’ve always loved Sarah even from way back then (I probably still have that issue somewhere!) She has amazing style – so laid back and comfy. I used to love her old shows Room Service, Design Inc. and of course her new ones – definitely a fave. (was that Beth Hitchcock who helped you out at H&H? I used to work with her at Chatelaine)
I’ve been watching since her Room Service days, and have loved seeing her career evolve. I mourn the loss of Design Inc. – seriously, it was my absolute favorite show, I’d love to see it brought back!
