I’ve been having such a good time blogging and meeting such neat people, that I thought it was due time I had a Kerrisdale Design Giveaway! I love entering contests, though I can’t say I’ve ever had much luck in that department. The only contest I can remember winning was a colouring contest our local video store had when I was 6 or so. You were supposed to draw a picture based on a favourite book, and I drew one from “Ramona and her Mother” by Beverly Cleary showing the two characters on a swing set. It’s funny how certain memories stick out, because I can still remember what my picture looked like, and how excited I was when I found out I won {please don’t burst my bubble and tell me that I was the only one who entered!} and got to march down to the video store and pick out my prize. I selected a very high tech {for the 80′s} clock radio cube thing. Awesome!

These are GORGEOUS placemats and napkins and they’d look fab in many different spaces. So, I feel a lot like you do, never very lucky in the winning department. But last summer I went to a conference of over 5000 people for my work and I got third prize for my presentation! That’s pretty much my only ‘win’ I can remember.

As for contests, one time I “thought” I had won $100 at a festival. They called out the number, I jumped up and started screaming, only to realize it was the wrong number after I ran up there. Embarrassing

The Dwell linens would look fabulous in my house…I’m not going to say dining room because the reality is, they will probably be used on the coffee table where my husband and I eat most of the time. Horrible habit, I know…but that’s pretty much the only time we have to watch tv! Anyhow, the neutral colors are perfect and I love the graphic motif.
