It’s Fashion Friday around here today, with another installment of “Dress the Designer“! My sweet friend Nancy of Marcus Design is visiting, and she has put together not one, not two, but THREE gorgeous outfits for me!

I am thrilled and honored to be participating in Karla’s fantastic ‘Dress the Designer’ series! Her work and her career path are so inspirational to me, so I am excited to ‘virtually’ dress this fabulous lady today! I adore Karla’s classic, clean and preppy design aesthetic, and I tried to translate this into pieces for her wardrobe by choosing items with clean lines, less pattern, and more texture. I think of classic investment pieces like the Dorothy Perkins blazer and the Marc by Marc Jacobs bag as the ‘custom-fabric sofas’ of our wardrobes! My favorite piece has to be the John Lewis Stripe dress, it exudes the ‘Hamptons’ vibe with a touch of glam like so many of Karla’s spaces do. As a designer, artist, wife, and mom, this girl has many roles to fill so I tried to give her a few looks that could suit this busy lifestyle. And I think the same rules that we apply to design should apply to our fashion: mix high and low end pieces, combine the old and new, and follow the rules but know when to break them!

stylish & feminine!
Wow… now that’s what I’m talking about!!! Can’t wait for DATE NIGHT! Maybe Nancy can be added to the design scheme as a fashionable babysitter?!
So darling, which one will you be wearing to the Dabble magazine launch?
Wow, I love all three outfits! Nancy can you come and dress me?? I am so into the classy preppy look! Just bought a cute blazer at H&M today!
Hee hee, Jeff I am glad you like the ‘date night’ outfit, that was the idea! And yes, I think babysitting skills are among my many talents
Thank you Karla for the chance to participate, I had so much fun putting these looks together! Although, now I just want to go shopping so bad …
Nancy xo
I just love Nancy – she has impeccable style and these outfits are just gorgeous. I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite of the three…ok the client meeting one- if pressed- love the slim pants, stripes and beautiful blazer- though that mommy play date blouse is also pretty much perfection. xo
I think you picked things that perfectly suit my girl. The bag for client meetings looks like one she has and those boots are great. The striped dress is gorgeous…I can see her in any of the outfits….great job!
Love love the entire collection down to the Chanel No.5 my go to fragrance. Love love the striped dress the most, who makes that?!!! KS
Love all your outfits Nancy! Love the blouse for the mommy play date.
Karla I can picture you in all of these outfits looking stunning as always. Just give me fair warning before our next playdate ’cause I’ll have to step up my fashion game then
