I’ve got round mirrors on the brain. I LOVE the look of them, particularly above a bed or a fireplace. The tension of the round shape placed adjacent to a boxy square or rectangular one is just lovely.  So let me present some visual evidence in my case for round mirrors, you’ll soon be a devotee too! {Ok, ok, we’ll let ovals play along too….but sorry sunbursts, you’ll have to wait till another day to show your stuff!}

{Round Mirror Love}

Proportion is everything when using a round mirror, and one must have a good eye to know the correct height at which to hang it, as there are no hard and fast rules….play around with it! As you can see, they can be oversized or diminutive, hung low or relatively high over the furniture piece…my solution is often to wrangle my husband into holding the mirror in a few spots until I find the perfect spot where it feels balanced before dragging out the hammer and nails! {ok, ok, before HE drags out the hammer and nails }

TOTALLY random…have you ever watched “Gene Simmons Family Jewels”? Not normally the type of show that’d be my thing, but it has some funny moments, and Gene can at times be quite endearing. Anyhow, the reason I mention it is because when I’ve seen the show what jumps out is the round mirror above their fireplace. Nice choice Gene!
